Today we’re announcing our third free sound effects pack: Variety 2 Sound Effects Collection.
It follows in the tradition of the last two weeks of free downloads (here and here) during our open website beta test.
Before we get to that, a heartfelt thanks to all of you who have downloaded the sound clips. Thank you also to the retweeters, and to designingsound.org for mentioning the sound effects downloads and beta test in a recent article.
Also, a quick note about a recent tweak. You can now checkout directly by clicking the cart item on the menu bar, above right. It also keeps track of the items you have in the cart, and the price.
And now onto this week’s sound clip bundle.
What is the Variety 2 Sound Effects Collection?
This sound effects bundle is a mixed bag of sound clips. It features both short and long specific samples, and atmospheres. They’re gathered from recordings completed last year and the year before using a Sony D50, Neumann 191, and DSM 6S/EH binaural microphones. It includes 60 clips in just over a gig of audio. They are 96 kHz, 24-bit WAV files enriched with Soundminer metadata.
Our favourites from the pack are the recycling trucks, the fairground clips, and the wind chimes. But really, everything in the pack is pretty cool. Check out the preview:
